MYRIAD BREWING COMPANY - CODE OF CONDUCT

Myriad Brewing Company exists to provide a fun, relaxing and safe environment for members of the community and its team members. We are committed to ensuring all patrons and team members feel welcome in our taproom and feel safe and protected from physical, racial, sexual, and verbal harassment and/or discrimination. We are a safe and welcoming environment for anyone, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, color, religion, or physical appearance.

We pride ourselves on creating a safe, fun environment to work in. The craft beer industry is one of the most fun worlds to exist in, and we aim make it even better, through hiring people that share our values. Myriad Brewing Company practices lawful hiring. We do not discriminate based on race, color, gender identity, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, or physical appearance. All team members are required to abide by this code of conduct.

SCOPE:

This Code of Conduct applies to all Myriad Team Members, including owners and management, as well as any individual or group that steps inside of the Myriad taproom.

STAFF:

All Myriad team members are expected to always behave in a professional manner. While we want patrons to enjoy their time at the taproom, and feel safe. Adhering to this code of conduct is a requirement for employment. Infractions will be handled by owners/management. Repeated infractions will result in termination of employment.

Myriad team members have the right to ask a patron to leave the premises, should any misconduct occur. This also applies to vendors.

We want our team to feel comfortable in their roles, to feel empowered and to enjoy their jobs. If you do not feel comfortable in any situation, please report it immediately to owners/management.

Discrimination of any kind is not tolerated. All team members are to treat each individual and group with the utmost respect in all situations. We do not tolerate discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, political views, race, color, nationality or physical appearance.

Should any team member display discrimination towards a patron or towards a Myriad Team member, disciplinary actions will be taken. This could include termination of employment.

 ALCOHOL LAWS:

 Myriad Team Members are to comply with all alcohol serving laws to ensure the safety of each patron. Should any patron appear to be over-served, it is the responsibility of the Myriad Team Member to see that they get home safely. Team Members are also expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all on and off-site Myriad events and beer festivals.

 PATRONS:

We want you to feel comfortable during your time at the Myriad Taproom. Your time here should be enjoyable and relaxing every single time.

Should any patron of Myriad Brewing company feel harassed or discriminated against by a fellow patron of Myriad Team member, we ask that you report it to management immediately. Reporting of infractions can be done via email to myriadbrewing@gmail.com or anonymously via written letter mailed to the Myriad taproom. All victim identities will be kept in confidence.

Should any patron display discrimination towards another or towards a Myriad Team member, disciplinary actions will be taken. This could include removal from the premises, temporary or permanent ban from the premises.

 SEXUAL HARASSMENT:

All complaints of harassment will be taken very seriously at Myriad Brewing Company. Reports of harassment can be made directly to management/ownership or can be made anonymously via written letter mailed to the taproom. The identity of anyone that reports harassment will be kept confidential.

Sexual harassment of any kind is not tolerated. Sexual harassment can take many forms and can occur between any gender. Sexual harassment leaves one with feelings of embarrassment, discomfort, and intimidation. All unwelcome harassment is not tolerated.

If a team member makes another team member feel uncomfortable, the wrong doer must remain open to feedback and make the appropriate behavior change. If changes are not made immediately, it will end with termination of employment.

Harassment can be any of the following (not an all-inclusive list)

 We do not tolerate the following behaviors: 

Physical conduct

  • Any unwelcome physical contact

  • Physical violence, including sexual assault

  • The use of threats or rewards to solicit sexual favors

Verbal conduct  

  • Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, mental illness, physical appearance, body size, age, race, or religion.

  • Comments on a team member’s age, race, body, religion, sexuality, etc.

  • Refusal to respect an individual’s pronouns

  • Sexual comments directed to team members or patrons

  • Sexual advances of any kind

  • Repeated and unwanted social invitations for dates or physical intimacy

Non-verbal conduct

  • Unwelcome sexual attention

  • Expressions of bias or making one feel belittled

  • Continuation of one-on-one communication after requests to cease

  • Bullying, intimidation, or victimization

  • Sending or showing of sexually explicit messages, regardless of the form of communication (digital, print, verbal)

  • Sexually-suggestive gestures

 

REPORTING OF INFRACTIONS

In the event of a case of misconduct or discrimination, team members and patrons are to report directly to owners/management. Reports can also be sent via email to myriadbrewing@gmail.com.
